Late last night, or more accurately early this morning, I got an email from eBay telling me to “hop to it” because free listings were afoot all Easter weekend. I woke up this morning and actually thought I had dreamt the whole thing.
I checked my inbox and there the email was they are offering 100 free listings, auction or fixed price over the entire extended bank holiday weekend.
Offering the option of fixed price as well as traditional style auctions is becoming a trend this year with EBay dabbling with offering it a few times in recent months. I personally think that this is the type of free listings we can look forward to I the future once the fee changes come in next month and if this is the case perhaps the change will not be so bad.
As always there are terms and conditions. But here’s the gist:
Create up to 100 listing(s) with a starting price of £1 or more in an eligible category during the promotion period using the auction-style or fixed price format and you won’t pay an insertion fee for each listing during the promotion period.
So if you were planning on having a lazy bank holiday weekend, you may now want to consider a listing spree!
It’s unclear just yet if you have items listed good till cancelled and they are due renew this weekend if they will be part of the promotion, however the last time eBay did this that’s what happened.
